Empties #2: Loreal Skin Perfection Micellar Gel Sensitive Eye MakeUp Remover, Rimmel Wake Me Up Foundation & Maybelline The ColossalVolume Express Mascara

So I've recently moved house hence the lack of posts (I'm using it as an excuse, it's mainly cause I'm rubbish) and with the move came a new dressing table and make up reorganising.

As you can probably tell I love everything to be organised and have its place, and I'm very much in love with my new dressing table.

ANYWAY - I've recently used up quite a few products so I'll start off with a few.

Loreal's Skin Perfection Micellar Gel Sensitive Eye Make Up Remover.

I bought this from Boots and if I remember correctly it was around £3 which I thought was very reasonable!

I'm a big fan of Micellar water, especially for removing my eye make up as I have quite sensitive eyes. Micellar gel is...weird. A gel is the right way to describe it but I've never used anything of that consistency to remove make up before. The initial feeling is quite slimey and uncomfortable, but it's very cooling and soothing.
In terms of removing all my eye make up its not great. I wear eyeshadow, eyeliner and mascara pretty much on a daily basis and although it removed the majority it didn't remove all of it.
I would usually use the Micellar gel before using a cleansing oil/ balm just to remove the rest of my make up.
Overall I'd give this a 3/5

Rimmel's Wake Me Up Foundation in True Nude 303

This foundation is very well known in the beauty world and I've heard nothing but good reviews so I figured I'd try it. I've never tried a Rimmel foundation but I was looking for something that would be quite brightening, especially for the spring/ summer months.

I got the shade True Nude 303 which I think was a little too fair for me.
The coverage with this is great, it covered all my blemishes and red ness and dark scarring I have on my cheeks.
Since this shade wasn't an exact match I used this under my eyes, chin, nose and centre of my forehead then blended it with a darker foundation I had. This combo worked really well and I loved the brightening effect it gave. I would highly recommend this to anyone who has quite dull skin and is looking for a bit of rejuvenation.
I would give this a 4/5

Maybelline's The Colossal Volume Express Mascara

I love Maybelline mascaras. I think they're affordable, they do what they say on the tin and they're good quality mascaras.

This is the one with the 'cat eye' effect.
It has a curved wand with brush bristles (not plastic ones)
I love the curve of this wand as it really helped to get to the root of the lashes and seperately them properly. It fits perfectly to the curve of your eye which makes life a lot easier. You can turn the brush upside down to get into the corners and really work the product into your lashes to get more volume.
With this mascara I found my lashes to be more separated and they had a lot more volume.
If you haven't tried a Maybelline mascara, I highly recommend them, they have one for every lash type.
I would give this mascara a 4/5
