Review: Lush Cosmetics Don't Look At Me Fresh Face Mask

If you've been reading my posts on here you'll know I'm a big fan of Lush Cosmetics. I recently used up 5 black tubs, and if you bring them back (clean!) to any Lush store you get a free fresh face mask! I've tried pretty much every single one that Lush have (through samples, as I have sensitive skin and sometimes it doesn't react well to certain ingredients - always ask for a sample before purchasing!) - but I'd never seen Don't Look At Me before, so I was very intrigued.

Bright blue in colour and a really nice subtle fresh lemon scent, with claims of moisturising, exfoliating and pore tightening I was instantly sold on this one. Also, the name 'Don't Look At Me' is so fitting - almost the themetune to my life???

The predominant ingredients being:

  • Kaolin - which is a kind of clay, it's great for exfoliating and removing dead skin cells
  • Fresh lemon juice - great for tightening pores, it's an astringent and an antiseptic
  • Ground white rice - the exfoliating part of this mask - a very gentle scrub
  • Murumuru butter - highly emollient and moisturising with a very high content of oleic acid

I've used this a few times and it's really really nice. It does exactly what I wanted (tightening pores whilst moisturising and exfoliating) and it's a really lovely refreshing smell.

The only annoying thing with the Lush Fresh Face Masks is that they have a shelf life of about 3 weeks. There's noooooo way you could use this whole mask up in 3 weeks, even if you used it every day. I always separate some into another tub and freeze the large majority. I find it a lot easier that way as I'm not pressured into using up all the product quicker than I would have wanted, and I don't waste any.

Have any of you tried this face mask? What are your favourite Lush masks?
