Review & Swatches: Sleek Matte Me Liquid Lipstick in Fandango Purple, Birthday Suit, Velvet Slipper, Rioja Red

By now, I'm sure you all know I'm a huge fan of Sleek Cosmetics. If you haven't seen my review post on their true colour matte lipsticks, you can catch it here! I've recently discovered their Matte Me liquid lipsticks, as y'all know I'm a sucker for a liquid to matte lipstick. The high pigmentation, the long wear so I don't have to reapply cause I'm lazy, the (usual) no transfer and obviously, the intense matte finish.

(Top to bottom: Fandango Purple, Birthday Suit, Velvet Slipper, Rioja Red)

Before I purchased these I swatched them on my hand in store - I then went to the gym, got my nails done, washed my hands multiple times, showered and dried myself, applied body butter and the swatch was STILL THERE. It had faded everrrrrr so slightly, but the swatch was ever prominent! I then ran (who am I kidding, I don't run) to Boots to pick some up because I was so amazed.

They come in rectangular packaging with a long sponge type applicator - I thought this was going to be really awkward to apply, but it was actually super handy having the longer sponge! It made application really precise and smooth.
On to the shades!

Fandango Purple is a bright fuchsia purple shade, perfect for spring and summer! I loooove this one, its a really flattering blue toned fuchsia and looks really good on my skin tone or darker.

Birthday Suit is a pale beige nude with a slight orange / pink undertone. This one is a pale nude shade on me, I was worried this one would wash me out, but it has the perfect mixture of undertones to suit my skin tone.

Velvet Slipper is a muted deep plum, nude-ish shade. This one is perffffect for the autumn and winter months or to go for a bit of 90's glam. The applicator on this one is shorter than the others for some reason! I would say it's more doe foot shaped, but it doesn't affect the application or formula.

Rioja Red is an orange based, fiery red. This one really reminds me of Lady Danger by Mac! It's predominantly a red shade with a heavy orange undertone that doesn't wash me out or make me look like I've been tangoed.

I'm in love with all of these shades, and the formula is amazing. They dry to a completely matte finish very quickly without making my lips feel tacky. Nor does it settle in the fine lines of my lips and make them look or feel dry or cracked. PLUS these last approximately 100 year - I swatched a shade on my hand then went to get my nails done, washed my hands multiple times, showered and was generally quite clumsy and it barely faded. AND I went swimming (got fully submerged) and this did. not. shift. So, safe to say I'm in love with these!

Have you tried any of these before? What are your favourite shades?
