Review & Swatches: Suva Beauty Trick or Treat Eyeshadow Palette

*clasps hands* I don't even know how to start this post about Suva Beauty and about this eyeshadow palette. I haven't heard of Suva Beauty for that long - they're a fairly new make up brand in my life. I got drawn into them on instagram where their swatch videos brought me to tears and made me scream YEEESSSSS BISSSSSSSH in the middle of a packed train.

Suva Beauty (for those not familiar) is a WoC owned make up brand that specialise in some incredibly pigmented eyeshadows and liners. You can find out more about the brand and the wonderful melanin that founded it here. Suva Beauty ship near enough worldwide but I was lusting over their limited edition Trick or Treat Eyeshadow Palette which was *sigh* no longer available directly from their website. SO I found the palette via Cocktail Cosmetics (who have incredible customer service FYI) - you can grab the palette for £44.95 here. Ok, that might seem a little steep for an 8 shade palette BUT, the size of the eyeshadows hot daaaaaaaamn. So in your average eyeshadow palette of for example Urban Decay Naked's the eyeshadow size is 1.3grams - Suva Beauty eyeshadows are 4grams. F O U R GRAMS!!!! Personally, I'd much rather have a larger shadow from a shade I love; compared to lots of little shadows I like and some I will never use (no shade though).

Aaaaanyways, so my beautiful palette arrived within 2 days of ordering from CC but when I opened it, the black shade had shattered and the black destroyed all the other shades in the palette. As you can imagine I was ready to cry but I contacted Cocktail Cosmetics and they dispatched a new one to me within about 20 minutes of me sending the email. SO, it arrived all in 1 piece and I was super super excited to get swatching and play around with this baby.

The packaging is really nice, simple and slim. The shades themselves are beautiful and you can pop out the pans and get replacements or move them around if you finish any up or want to replace them. Personally I have more matte black eyeshadows than I can dream of so I purchased a single shimmer eyeshadow in Tangerine to replace the matte black called Night Market.

Ok, I will shutup now and actually talk about the swatches cause *cries* look at that pigmentation. I was swatching this at home and out loud going 'wooooahhhhh'

From left to right we have:

Got Milk - a matte white shade that actually shows up on brown skin??????????? Heck??? I'm so shocked by this pigmentation! It's super smooth and blendable and is going to be such a nice base or even a inner corner highlight - or using this on top of face paints for some extra pigmentation.

Tropic - wow wow wow, this is such a lovely unique shade! A shimmery yellow that doesn't have chunky glitter in it or any fall out! Really smooth and easy to use, plus this was a one swipe swatch!

Queens Road - this one is a new shade from Suva Beauty which they've been bumping on their instagram a lot as they've just released it as a single shade. It's a beautiful shimmery rose gold shade with a big hit of orange thrown in. Another incredibly pigmented shade that's one swatch. It doesn't feel chunky or thick and blends like a dream.

Bloody Mary - one of the shades I was so excited about! A matte orange/red shade which is a lot more red in person. This one is such a spicy shade - it's soft and velvety and is going to look amazing as a crease shade.

(Left to right: Hookah, The 6ix, Islander, Night Market)

I can't get over the pigmentation of these shades. These were all one swipe swatches with no primer or prep on my arm. This palette is what dreams are made of!

Left to right is:

Hookah - an incredibly pigmented matte burgundy shade. Amazing crease shade for some Autumn/Winter looks and really warms up any eye look. It's super smooth and velvety and blends really nicely.

The 6ix - another new shade from Suva Beauty this one is an incredible shimmery true bronzy gold. The shimmer in the shadow is smooth and just melts on the skin. The shade itself is beautiful and so pigmented! I'm really looking forward to using this as a lid shade and as a highlight on my face.

Islander - the perfect staple matte light brown shade. Amazing for some super bright looks to blend them out and soften them a little and this will also be amazing for those lazy days where I want it to look like I've beat face but really haven't. Again this is super smooth and easy to work with.

Night Market - ok, maybe I was wrong when I said I have so many matte black shades cause this one is amazing? It's not chalky or streaky and feels really comfortable and not drying at all. It's a true black and doesn't blend out to be grey or charcoal - black as black can be!

I purchased Tangerine (above) to replace Night Market in the palette - an incredible shimmery hot orange shade that I think compliments the other shades in this palette really well.

I had a little play around this weekend and used the shades Bloody Mary, Hookah, Islander and The 6ix. This was suuuuuch a fun look to do! I didn't really have a plan so just dipped around all the shadows I was most excited to try. I can imagine doing a really nice festive look with these shades.

So, I'm hoping I've at least converted you to look at Suva Beauty! What products are you lusting over?

If you have any questions or suggestions feel free to drop me a comment! (P.s scroll down if you want to see how my first palette arrived...please make sure you're sitting down!)

Deep breaths everyone!
