Tutorial: Festival Make Up - No Cultural Appropriation - NYX Vivid Brights Eyeliner

I'm definitely not finished with my No Cultural Appropriation festival make up looks - I have a few more up my sleeve! If you haven't seen my recent posts I'm doing a short series of festival make up looks that involve no cultural appropriation (you can catch my previous 3 posts here here and here). Just to emphasise how easy it is to have a fun and simple make up look that doesn't insult or appropriate anyone's culture.

With today's look I decided to go for the festival cliche and went with some nice pastel shades, florals and of course a flower crown of daisies. I decided to predominantly use the NYX Vivid Brights Eyeliners. I looove these eyeliners and they come in a great range of bright shades - I did a blog post a little while ago of the 2 shades I had at the time which you can catch here. I used Blossom (a pale lavender purple/pink) and Halo (a egg yolk yellow) which were both really bright and shades that looked great together.

For the base I went with my usual combo with my base of moisturiser, primer, setting powder, foundation, concealer and setting it all with a setting powder. I then did my eyebrows with a brow wax, brow pomade and then a matte brown eyeshadow to set it all in place. For details on the specific products and the products and the process, you can read it all here.

I went with a neutral eyeshadow look and stuck with browns and some shimmery shades for my inner corner and lid and didn't do winged liner as I was intending on doing some accents with the NYX eyeliners. I finished off the look with a light contour and used the same shimmery shade on my lid as a highlighter. I went for a pastel shade on my lips and used the Sleek Matte Me liquid lipstick in Crushed Lavender with a nude lip liner underneath.

For the coloured wings I used NYX Vivid Brights Eyeliners in Blossom and Halo. If you can do a winged liner this will be no trouble for you. On my left side I went with Blossom, Halo, Blossom and on my right I went with Halo, Blossom, Halo just to switch it up a little bit. I started off doing a long line stretching out as far as I wanted then made another line to create a V shape. Then I filled it in with the same liner and just faded it out with the liner brush. Easy peasy! Repeat the process as many times as you'd like - and you can do this in so many different colours!

To complete the entire look I wore my hair messy and freshly washed with a flower crown of daisy's that I got from Primark many moons ago. You can find these crowns near enough everywhere in the summer time!

This is a really easy and fun look to do which is still bright, colourful, unique and stylish. I really enjoyed doing this make up and the entire look pulled together really well.

I just wanted to show off the amazing sleeves on this summery blouse that I got from Primark. A bargain at £10! I got the blouse a couple of sizes bigger as I wanted it to be loose and flowy and I love the fluted sleeves on this!

Do you think this is a look you'd go for this festival season? What are your favourite festival looks?
