Tutorial: Festival Make Up - No Cultural Appropriation - NUE Luminous Shimmer Dust

I can't believe this is my 4th festival make up tutorial! All of my festival looks involve no cultural appropriation - this is how easy it is! You can catch my previous looks here, here, here, and here! For today's look I decided to use the Luminous Shimmer Dusts I got from NUE make up in the shades Mulberry Nova and Coffee Comet. If you didn't catch my review and swatches you can read it here!

This look has been pretty popular over social media lately - glitter tears. A perfect festival look you can make this super bright and colourful or a bit more muted. But the best part of it being the glitter!

Since the purple and brown glitter would end up stealing the show I wanted to combine the bright purple with another colour and chose bright orange. I did a punchy orange eye look that would contrast well with the purple and channel my inner Velma. I chose some Urban Decay and Mac eyeshadows to complete the eye look.

For the base I went with my usual combo of my moisturiser, primer, setting powder, foundation, concealer and setting it all with setting powder. I then did my eyebrows with a brow wax, brow pomade and then a matte brown eyeshadow to set it all in place. For full details on the specific products and the process you can read it all here

Once I'd finished the eye look I used the NYX glitter primer underneath my eyes. I dabbed it on lightly over the large majority of my under eye so I covered most of the area. Using a thin pointed brush I dabbed the shimmer dust lightly into teardrop shapes under my eyes. One eye I did 4 tears, another I did 3 tears just to change it up a little bit. I firstly dabbed on Mulberry Nova then dabbed Coffee Comet over the top. The combo of these shades worked really nicely and Coffee Comet was nice and subtle.

I was careful not to get the shimmer dust too close to my lash line as the fine particles could easily drift into my eyes. To merge the purple shade I used a purple pencil eyeliner on my lash line and water line to blend in the 2 shades.

To finish off the look I did a heavy contour and applied an orange toned lipstick to match the eyes. I wore a plunge bright orange dress and a chunky silver choker as my main accessory.

I am such a fan of this look! It was super easy to do and it's very dramatic, bold and fun. You can team this with a bunch of colours and it will completely transform the look!

I did a quick time lapse tutorial over on my instagram (@_rametc) of the tears if you want to see this look live!

What festival look are you going for? Would you try out glitter tears?
